When we wrapped up our first book Govern Agility, we thought that was it for our careers as authors. One and done, over and out. As it turned out, Govern Agility opened so many incredible doors for us.  It gave us the chance to partner with teams around the world and help them shift toward Modern Governance. Our schedules were packed. In all honesty, we had no plans for a sequel.
Then AI hit. Almost overnight, the entire landscape shifted. Every board and leadership team suddenly had the exact same mandate: to leverage AI immediately in order to boost efficiency, trim costs, and keep from getting left behind. As those demands landed in our laps, we found ourselves back in the trenches, listening, learning, and working through deep discovery sessions with organisations trying to navigate the fallout.  Everyone was asking the same fundamental question:How does this massive technological leap impact our governance structure, and how can Modern Governance keep up with such rapid strategic shifts?
We went through dozens of these conversations before it hit us: we could do more good by sharing everything we were learning on the ground. We needed to show how the 5 Stanchions of Governance could also serve as a practical pattern for anyone tackling the AI frontier. That’s how Govern AI came to be. Just like Govern Agility before it, our hope is that this book serves as a grounded, actionable catalyst that will help your organisation navigate the noise, adopt AI thoughtfully, and build an adaptable governance system.The learnings are ours.
